THE   FOUNDATION   OF   THE FAITH

The Church is the house of GOD (1 Timothy 3:15). Every house has a foundation on which the walls and pillars which hold the roof are built. This foundation is of vital importance because it insures the stability of the building. If the foundation is poorly placed, the house will be fragile. Therefore, it’s important for Christians to know the foundation of faith. This way, they won’t be like children tossed to and fro’, carried around with any wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14).

The foundation of Christian Faith is the Lord JESUS-CHRIST. In fact, the Apostle Paul said, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11). He specifies that we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and of the prophets, JESUS-CHRIST Himself being the chief cornerstone.

The Foundation of Faith Doesn’t Change

It is written, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). Likewise, the teaching of the church does not change. If we check our archives. We can see that the church has been giving the same teaching which is in accordance with the Word of GOD since 1963. Indeed, certain teachings that look new to us today are actually about twenty or thirty years old. The HOLY SPIRIT is only renewing what He had already revealed at the beginning of this Ministry.

The Word of GOD does not evolve, but we are the ones who grow in the understanding of His Word. Of course, we can correct our habits, (for example, I can learn how to tie my tie better, or learn how to speak in public), but we cannot correct the Word of GOD for it is perfect. We cannot add or subtract anything from it (Revelation 22:18-19). But if I quote a biblical passage incorrectly, you can correct me; for someone can forget what he has learned, and we have to help each other. Especially since the language with which we express ourselves isn’t ours.
